I was given a very unique commission to make a star from wood formed by interlocking triangles. The client had seen it in her imagination and could not tell me much more of what she wanted other than it resembled a Chinese wooden puzzle. I have an inquiringly inquisitive mind and so set forth to create something. It wasn't all that straight forward making something made from the description of someone elses mind. I didn't really even know where to start. After sticking many lolly sticks together and failing at creating much of anything, other than a pile of triangular lolly sticks, I got a bit more 3D and made this. This, though something, wasn't what I wanted so I delved into tetrahedrons. Which weren't as straight forward as they looked either. The joins were a right bugger to work out.
